/hiə/ is the phonetic sound for the words hear and here. Surrendering eyesight and renouncing visual and verbal responses as well as remaining completely still and present in the space provided a unique opportunity to place the emphasis on the ears and explore what it means to hear.  The audience, in turn, were able to explore their own reactions to ears that were completely ready to listen.

/hiə/ was an endurance piece that totalled 101 hours over 15 consecutive days.
